The University of Primary California was accepted by the California Situation Legislature in 1963, and started out in 1968 as California Specialized University, with the goal of providing highly-trained workers to support the Kennedy Area Middle, located only 35 miles (56 km) to the southern. As the university's academic opportunity had prolonged to include other careers, "Florida Tech" was relabeled the University of Primary California in 1978. Although initial signing up in 1968 was only 1,948 students, as of 2012 signing up contains 59,767 students including over 140 countries, all 50 states and the Area of Southern america. The majority of the university student population is located on the university's 1,415-acre (5.73 km2) main school approximately 13 miles (21 km) east-northeast of town center Vacation and 55 miles (89 km) south-southwest of Daytona Beach.
